Retirement Programs
Retirement Planning Programs in today's Canadian Marketplace really comes down to a choice of one of three primary products for clients:
a) Registered Pension Plan
b) Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan
c) Deferred Profit Sharing Plan
A fourth option which is often considered, especially for larger companies, is a combination of a Group RRSP and a DPSP.
In addition to ensuring that our Pension clients are complying with the Capital Accumulation Plan (CAP) guidelines, there are two primary items which we assist clients with:
a) Accumulation Process, i.e. the collection of monies in a retirement program, and assisting employees, when necessary, with the investment decision process.
b) Choice of Registered Retirement Planning Product / Choice of Carrier
Should we be asked to market an account for a prospect or existing account, a marketing for this type of product consists of the following:
a) Review of Existing Program
b) Drafting of Retirement Specifications
c) Preparation of the Market Survey
d) Summary and Recommendations
Generally speaking, Group Retirement Plans are not marketed as frequently as Group Insurance plans. However, should there be significant changes within a company, or should their asset base grow significantly over a period of time, then we do like to recommend to clients that a marketing be completed in order to confirm that they are still receiving the best value in the marketplace.
